Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Golf Tournament
Prior to her diagnosis in April 2008, Lindsey was an active 21-year-old on the brink of an exciting future. She played varsity golf and softball at Palm Desert (CA) High School, participated in short-term mission trips to Russia and Brazil, and worked as a server at Pacifica Seafood Restaurant and California Pizza Kitchen where she received recognition for outstanding guest service. Lindsey also did modeling, had an eye for fashion and loved shopping during her free time She was chosen as Miss Chrysler 2007 for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Golf Tournament.
Lindsey’s passion for nurturing relationships and helping others led to her interest in nursing, a fitting and appealing career opportunity. She had hoped to start the nursing program at College of the Desert (Palm Desert, CA) in the fall of 2008. However, on July 24, 2008 Lindsey lost her short, but courageous, battle with cancer.
During the 12 weeks Lindsey spent in the hospital, we, her parents, came to appreciate the many wonderful nurses who not only skillfully cared for Lindsey physically, but also provided her with support and encouragement. Lindsey’s compassion for people would have caused her to provide this same kind of loving treatment to those she would have served.
