Recipients ~ Abigayle

The Nursing field intersects all the things I value: life-long education, serving others and the sciences. As I sought to express these values, I fell in love with nursing while volunteering in hospitals around the world, from a mission trip in Kenya to my local hospital. At the Kenya Cure Hospital, God put a passion in my heart for nursing and the unreached people around the world. A couple years later, I volunteered in the local hospital and saw vulnerable patients in need of help. The kind nurses were able to provide a light amidst the darkness for these patients.
As a professional I want to create a safe place for patients and an environment that allows people to thrive. In order to help people medically, it is crucial to establish trust and communication, which I strive to accomplish.
As a medical professional, my main goal would be to provide basic health care to the forgotten and needy populations around the world. I strive to praise the Lord through nursing the needy and healing the sick. I dream of eventually being a part of a team that establishes a clinic in remote areas that trains local people and provides a long-lasting impact. Lindsey’s Hope allows me to continue this dream at a private college that fosters a tight knit community and will better prepare me for the medical field. The foundation has not only provided financial support but is walking alongside me in this journey with prayer and communal support. I pray that I can honor Lindsey’s memory and make her family proud.
